The Church

We're a small local church that is seeking to reestablish itself in our beautiful village. The Congregational Church existed here for over a century, but has in recent years decreased in membership for various reasons. Since almost 4 years, Southwick Christian Community Church has taken it on to revive the work in Ardingly.

The Minister

Since last August Gordon (Minister) and Veneta Merk with their daughters Elizabeth and Christine have taken over the task of establishing a flourishing local church that seeks to bless the community and share the love of God and Good News of Jesus Christ!

Gordon and Veny are in their early thirties and have a heart for healthy and happy families and people finding the true meaning of life and a good purpose for life.

The Mission

As a church we seek to be a blessing to the village in various ways. To date we have been fundaraising for the Village Playground and did cummunity work for several families and an elderly lady during our Youth Camp in August. We are running a Craft & Coffee morning every other Monday (see EVENTS). As Christians we seek to share the love of God for all people with those interested and reach out to people in need. Though people might have material abundance, they might lack social, emotional and spiritual things. Our mission is to bring a better understandin of God to people, especially in an age where many people feel the Church is no longer relevant or interesting. That may be true of some churches, but is certainly not true of God! God is ever-present, always relevant, and eternally faithful. The Bible reveals who God is and we are there to explain and proclaim His goodness and love for all people.
